I'm trying to rip a R2 Japanese disc (Gemini). For some reason, when the program gets to subtitle selection, only Japanese streams show up...no English. I tried the same thing with dvdx and dvd2svcd, with the same result, the programs freeze. I ripped the disc with smartripper, just to see the .ifo file, and darned if it doesn't show an English subtitle stream! But for some reason, it won't rip. I also tried to use the ripped vob files from smartripper to dvd2avcd, but got the same result.
.ifo file shows three subtitle streams...but the above two programs only see the last two.
I have successfully ripped Japanese discs in the past, I don't know what's up with this one. Anyone ever had this problem? And fixed it?

consult the guides at vcdhelp.com to find out how to use those....
