I use Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 10 and recently I transfered an old 8 mm movie to DVD. The original 8 mm film is scratched, sometimes over or underexposed and therefore the DVD copy is likewise.I'd like to enhance it using the video software that I use. My first question is are there any free plugs in that I can use with Sony Vegas to clean the video copy of this film and second if I want to use a video FX to apply to a certain portion of the video only in order to correct the original exposure of the 8 mm film like brightness, contrast, etc how can I select the specific portion of the video and apply the effect to that portion only and not to the whole clip, because I think --and please correct me if I'm wrong--that if I drag the Fx effect to the clip, the effect will be applied to the whole lenght ot the clip.
