  1. Hi everybody, I'd like to know if there is any way how to convert mkv file containing špgs subtitles(in .sup format) to m2ts. I've tried tsmuxer but it doesnt support .sup subtitles in mkv container, only srt. I have wd tv live player and it doesnt support pgs subtitles which are in mkv, but if they are within m2ts, it plays fine. Is there any software to handle this? Or i have to demux first then convert to srt and remux again?? thx for advice
edit: sorry, it is PGS no PSG in topic name

Tried extract the sup pgs subtitle with mkvextractgui2 first? Then add it and the mkv in tsmuxer and make a m2ts.

  3. I use BDSup2Sub in the process of backing up BD to MKV, using ClownBD, http://www.mediasmartserver.net/2010/03/31/mkv-mania-clown_bd-mkvmerge/ .

So you get that Sup out from MKV change it to Sub/Idx using BDSup2Sub (it takes couple of seconds) and mux it to MKV again. That tutorial will tell you exactly what to do. It works, I have WDTV Live plus myself.

    Bump !

Hi guys ! Regarding the neat process up there involving BDsup2sub => MKVMerge, I must be doing something wrong.

I do indeed have my PSG converted to NAME.idx + NAME.sub, problem is when importing the idx into MKVMerge the sub doesn't follow. That is, the .idx is imported but when I mux the subtitles aren't there in the output file. VLC detects a subtitle track, but nothing shows.

To further test my file, I tried to manually open the idx and / or sub file in, say, VLC, after having launched the video. Then the subs play correctly, so the idx and sub files created by BDsup2sub are fine.

    Any thoughts ?

    Thank y'all !

  6. Have you confirmed the subtitles aren't muxed into the MKV by other means (aside from VLC)? For example, by opening the MKV with MKVMergeGUI for a look, or checking the MKV with MediaInfo. Or even try a different player such as MPC-HC. Just to make sure it's not a VLC issue......

You could also try extracting the subtitles from the MKV with gMKVExtractGUI or MKVCleaver. If the extracted subtitles are very close to the same file size as the original, they probably should be okay.

You were dead on. The subs were indeed there as confirmed by both the softs you suggested, but my dinosaur version of VLC did not display. Replaced with current version and all OK. Now I feel kinda foolish

    Thanks for the help, cheers
