Using XMediaRecode to change parts of a x264 MKV while using the Video Copy part of the program, I end up with a MKV that has a reported 1000000 frame rate. My software players ignore this and they play fine. However my Media players will not play them unless I re-copy them with MKVtoolNix[MMG} and manually change the frame rate to 23.9.. The file doesn't seem to change but now Mediainfo lists the frame rate correctly and the file will now play in my media players.

Is there a way to change the erroneously reported frame rate in the files without having to completely re-copy them?

Which version of XmediaRecode ? It might be worth going back to a prior version (links to prior versions can be found on the XmediaRecode page in our Tools section)

Maybe, I should do that. I have tried the last 3 versions and I have older versions still stored in my Old Downloads folder. However, I don't think it will help. For the longest time, the versions that I have used have always had a problem reporting the incoming frame rate. It has a drop down menu using MediaInfo and it usually reports a different framerate than the stand alone version of MediaInfo.

It only takes about 10 min for me to run the 1920x1080 mkv file thru MMG to recopy it but I was looking to see if there was a way to just change the way the XmediaRecode reported the frame rate. Evidently it's not one of the options avail in the MMG header editor or at least I couldn't find it.

With older versions if you just inserted a DTS audio file and converted it to Ac3 it was usually off by 2 min. The last 2 versions fixed that but this other problem still hasn't been fixed.
