  1. Ive tried awhile on my own with no luckl, so now Ill try here with the hopes somone can help...
Im looking for sofware where I can put png slides and movies on same disc for presentaion on a Dvd
up until i have been using Sonic MYDVD Studio Deluxe Suite 6.1 on a Windows XP Pc, but as many of you now
know this is 5-6 yr old software but it quit working and just closes when I try to burn a disc. (Debug)
I need a software just like this one where in the slideshow options I can turn the duration off so I can
advance a slide with a dvd remote to the next and so on. I do slideshow presentations for my business and
I've searched online and downloaded free trial after free trial with no luck am I missing something here or
what? I dont need any transitions just a basic old school slideshow that goes from 1 slide, 2 slide, 3 movie,
4 slide etc..., I hope this makes sense I just want to have control of my presentation with my remote and not have the software control the slides. Any software recommendations and all help with this will be greatly appreciated

I take it that MyDVD crashes when you try to burn the DVD, but has still created a working set of DVD files and folders which are stored somewhere on your PC. If you are happy with the slideshows MyDVD makes, you could try using something else to burn a DVD. ImgBurn is good and free.

  3. Yeah you can output an ISO or DVD folder in MyDVD and burn with ImgBurn.

  6. Save it to a folder other than My DVDS, if that doesn't work then you should reinstall MyDVD.

  9. So I take it from the overwhelming response, There is not a software available that will do what I need?

  10. You say: "I just want to have control of my presentation with my remote and not have the software control the slides." Yet you want to burn a DVD? You will loose control when that DVD is played. (Except when you click on another DVD menu item.) IF you want personal control over the slides then just do a PowerPoint presentation from your laptop.

  11. I guess I posted my question on the wrong site...... I guess nonone understands what I need , ok 1 last time I need a software just like MYDVD Studio Deluxe 6.1, one that I can turn off the timing of slides. The new Roxio MYDVDand other softwares i downloaded trial software has options of timing the slide but you cant turn off like you could with older version of MYDVD.
I do slideshow presentaions for my business which includes a combination of slides and mpeg movies. I want to keep using a Dvd Player and projector.

Example: (slide 1) I need to stay up until I want to advance on remote slide 2 and so on, with mydvd this is how I built this with this screen I just added pics in the add slideshow part clicked off under the options for timing, this created a menu (i guess thats what you call it) then I added my movie (which created another menu), then more slides and so on.Name: 1.4.jpg

If you have not used MYDVD you probably have no idea how it works. What stumps me is there is not a software that I have have found anyways that does this, I am sorry if I come off as rude, I am just frustrated. Maybe I am looking for a software that builds multiple menus I dont know. Thanks for all the replies I hope I made this a little clearer.

If you have tried similar commercial products without success, it seems unlikely that something exists that can reproduce the kind of manually controllable slideshow that your version of Sonic MyDVD made.

I don't know of a program that does what you want. I have only used DVD Slideshow GUI. As I recall, it isn't possible to create a slideshow where slides are displayed until someone clicks a button. It will only display slides for a predetermined amount of time, and then moves on to the next slide.

Software installed and working on a Windows XP PC for years doesn't just stop working on that machine one day out of the blue for no reason. Something caused it to stop working. If you can't find a replacement for Sonic MyDVD, then maybe you will have to start over with a clean install of both windows XP and Sonic My DVD. You could get a new HDD for this, and replace your old one so you wouldn't loose any data.

  13. Rodney, are you saying that your old (many years old) version of Sonic MyDvd let you burn a DVD that you were able project on a screen and control the duration of the slides on that DVD while you watched? I didn't know that was ever possible but I learn something new every day.
