No I am not going for the shaky home video. I am using a tripod to shoot the outside of the business. A steadicam merlin to move down an isle and the camera set up on a tripod to shoot two other sections of the business. Actually four shots total. In truth, I can use a tripod on the aisle instead of a steadicam. Portable HD lights that I will have to move around.
    No sound in the shoot.
    Voice over in post.

My guess that is why they suggest using a pro service. They are assuming that what they are getting is Joe Schmo whipping out his recorder and just taping. I certainly wouldn't attach my name to anything done that way. I am planning on shooting the exterior shots after this weekend (need to do it while its still green out) The interior shots can be done later on when the business is closed for the season. That way I can situate the lights and not have to worry about people walking around. Very simple. (meaning the footage that is)
In post after I edit the footage I have to exactly 30 seconds I will do the vo. Or someone else I know will do it if I suck. I know the vo is hard. Actually in truth I believe that will be the most difficult thing to do. We'll see.

Right now I am not recording audio even though I have a beachtek and pretty decent lav mics and a shotgun mic and boom, I am not going that heavy. Just something simple and to the point. Its what I can handle right now.

What I want to know from them is if they will check it out first before I sign anything. I don't want to sign anything for it to be rejected. The salesperson is out of the office for a week now.

It used to be but Scripps spun off the cable networks, media production and online shopping operation into a separate company called Scripps Networks Interactive (stock = SNI).

Before that they sold their local cable operations to Comcast.

The original E.W. Scripps Company retained the newspapers and local TV station businesses.
