  2. You can use a CD-RW drive to make a "mini-DVD", which is a DVD-formatted CD-R/RW. Very high quality (like a DVD) but also very short, as you might expect.

    http://www.doom9.net/ for some basics.
As Churchill famously predicted when Chamberlain returned from Munich proclaiming peace in his time: "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war."

yes you can, check the dvd compatability list to see what formats your dvd player will play, then head to the how to's list and try to get a start from there, in the end you will be back to this forum to ask many questions or browse already asked questions everybody does it just makes it easier if you dive right in and learn by experience if your like me you'll have a hard time understanding whats everybodys talking about until you've seen it on your computer screen hope this gets you off to a great start if you ever need help with this kind of stuff this is the place to be!!!

  5. I will tell you that do not waste your time. Sony's will not read miniDVDs of any kind

  6. Making mini-DVDs is never a waste of time: you can always run them on your PC with a software DVD player: all good practice for when you invest in a DVD-RW

  9. Hello Everyone,

Today I bought a DVD+RW/CD-RW It's a Sony. The program that cam with it to copy DVD's is called " B's recorder Gold " . I have the following Programs : Clad DVD XP 1.3, Ifoedit09, Vobedit04 and I can 't find the Smart Ripper at no sites.
My question is real basic, How can I take the write protected codes off a DVD movie and record the movie on a blank DVD ?? I've tried with the programs I have and none of them work except Clad DVD XP1.3 but after this process is over my program that comes with my DVD burner(B's RecorderGold) won't reconize the files to burn. I was told but Darrow that all I need is The smart Ripper(Can't find), The Ifoedit09, and the program that cam with my DVD Burner.....but I have the next best thing and somethings wrong. I have windows Xp. Can someone assist me in learning how to copy DVD movie's ?

Yes, all you have to do is rip the vobs, then remove the region and macrovision protection, then if you have Nero, I think u can droip the patched vobs and other files (the IFO and the other one) into Video_TS
