    Hello everybody,

I'm trying to convert a .vob file into an editable file .

Whereas the conversion works fine for MPEG4 .AVI (either ffmpeg or mencoder), when I try to convert it to MPEG4 or XviD (both .MOV ffmpeg), which is the format I think would suit for me, the conversion last 1 second and nothing is converted...

    Can you help me??

    Thank you

The information box says: "Codec type mismatch for mapping #0.0 -> #0.0"

    Thank you

I've tried that one, but it tells me that I need the "mpeg2 codec" which is only buyable at apple store...

    Maybe Avidemux.

But how did get this vob file? Ripped, downloaded, etc? You can try mediainfo and see if it's standard vob file with mpeg2 or mpeg1 video.

OK, thanks for letting me know about Mediainfo.

These are the specifics of my file. Basically I need to edit it, convert it and send it to web.... So an application like Mpeg Streamclip would be fantastic... but, again, it tells me I have to buy the mpeg2 codec at apple:

When you see this error, try this:
Set the "Invert mapping" checkbox in the Audio tab. Then Encode again.
(This applies only to conversions with ffmpeg, not mencoder.)

No, I'm not a developer; just a user. The development credit goes to major.
