  1. Hey,
1-2 years ago i was capturing some old video tapes and ran into a problem and i couldn't figur this out even after hours of searching on google.
Today i decided that i will fix this problem but i guess i need an expert on this.
Many frames have this weird "distortion" and it looks like this:

    http://www.pic-upload.de/view-11105982/Frame4.jpg.html

Its as if something is dragging several frames to the right or left.
How can i fix this? I used an external tv card probably made by Pinnacle
    Thanks for reading

Need to recapture from original tapes ideally through a TBC.

  3. Well thanks edDV. Are your sure a TBC will be able to fix this? I mean if I am going to spend some money on this, it really needs to resolve this. I also want to add that when I hook up my camera to a TV those "distortions" do not happen.
I was thinking about buying a new DVD Player, so might aswell buy a DVD Recorder with a TBC. Would that kind of TBC be enough. Can you recommend a good DVD Recorder with TBC?
Also are there any other opinions on this matter? I really need to be sure a TBC will fix this before i make that kind of Investment.
BTW how do call this kind of problem? Time Base Error? Couldn't find threads with Google that are centered around the same problem.

First try a different player, then a different capture device.

The problem is extreme tape tension skew cased by a faulty player or sticky tapes. Or a faulty capture device.

If this is only one or a few tapes, take it to a pro dub house with money back guarantee..
