  1. I signed up to this forum because I have a bit of a problem. I made a film on my Iphone that's 4 minutes long. The film has a lot of value because of the time and date when it was made. The problem is that the first 2 minutes (of the 4 minute film) shows something which I do not want people to see. The following 2 minutes are the minutes that will have value in my case.
My question is, how can I cut the film so that it shows only the last 2 minutes, without damaging the source. Is this even possible?
I have cut the film, but if you right mouse click and click on properties, it doesn't show the date and time of the making of the film, but the time and date of the making of the cut.
Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated,

    Stikke

Change the date on your PC to the date/time of the film, make the cut, then change it back to current date/time.
    Have a good one,

  3. Thank you for your reply. But since it's for a case, that sounds pretty sketchy and maybe even illegal to do. Since I'm not willing to take that risk I was hoping there was a clean way to do this, but it seems there's not.

A "clean" way? Sure as hell sounds like you are trying to deliberately take something out of context. How is setting your computer clock back more deceitful than editing footage out of context and presenting it as evidence?

Don't even attempt it. Anybody experienced with forensic media could find such a blatant modification in about 10 seconds. And you would be screwed, lose the case, be held in contempt of court, and open to fraud litigation (civil and criminal). Don't be a dumbass.

  6. Yeah guess it sounds pretty stupid. I first thought it were 2 different films. Because the first and second part are so totally different. Kind of hard to explain without going in to details. I would never do anything remotely illegal to help my case. Thanks for your advice, topic can be closed.

  7. Maybe other respondents have been watching too many CSI's?

If the first part of the video is "so totally different," is it truly unrelated to the second half? If so, if you were to edit out the first part, but had the full video available, if necessary, to prove the relationship (or lack thereof), so an arbitrator or judge could see the full video if challenged, that may not be seen as fraud.

IF, however, the first part shows the equivalent of a "2+2=4" truth and the second part tries to make it look like "2+2=5," that's likely a very different matter.

Yes this is exactly the case. Thank you for your spot on reply I will talk with my lawyer to see if this is the way to go. Since it's turned into more of a legal issue then a videohelp issue, this topic can be closed.
