beginner needs advise

i resently baught a sony,dru110a, dvd+rw for my computer, I have a connon alura dv camera, and video wave III soft ware, i captured video segments and burned them. The dvd won't play on my Yamaha dvd player. how can i do this. I'm just a beginner trying to understand al the software and terminology, Help.

First off make sure you used an authoring program or the program that came with the dvd writer to make the dvd. Second the DVD+RW format isn't compatible with all dvd players (only about 70% I think) so that could be your main problem. You should go with a DVD-R drive which is more than 90% compatible with DVD players, try the Pioneer DVR-A03 DVD-R drive. Hope this helps.
