  2. Specs on that unit say it will play BDR.

What is your procedure for burning a disc? Do you use ImgBurn? I think that "bd-r cannot be played if postscripts are recordable" means the disc must be finalized, but it's an odd way to put it. It's just possible your procedure is wrong and your BDP-S370 plays them anyway. I know my Sony BDP-S360 players are exceptionally tolerant.

Assuming your BDRs are okay, then perhaps the BDV-E370 is defective. Have you tried powering down and unplugging the player for awhile? I don't think I'd try a firmware update and thereby provide an excuse for refusing an exchange/refund.

    Good luck.

it might be the player doesn't like the brand of bdr you are using.

Put a BD-R you made that won't play in a PC that is either running at least Vista or has XP with this package installed:
    UDF Reader
You can get that program from our Tools section.

Post a photo of what the directories/folders are on the top level of the disc. Let's make sure that you're really creating a BluRay format disc but it is certainly possible that your Sony doesn't like your media. I'd advise using Verbatim if you can find them. If you can't find Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden (you'll have to buy online) then maybe try Sony as long as the disc says "Made in Japan" on it.
