I've been asked to make a 5 minute video of a flight over an airfield I've made for FS9.
I've tried the inbuilt video making facility but it's not smooth enough & can only be replay from FS9.
I'm a complete novice at video making & will appreciate all help & tips amyone can give me.....
    Thanks,

    There are several methods.

    1. Fraps, which records the full screen to a digital file. Fraps is intended for recording game play.

    2. Run FS9 in NVidia clone mode or ATI "Theater Mode" to S-Video out and record with VCR, DVD recorder or capture card. The recording will be standard definition.

    3. High def analog component out can be recorded with a Haupauge HD-PVR.

    4. HDMI out can be recorded with a Black Magic Intensity card on another computer.

    5. Other variations.

Hi. Thanks. Fraps looks to be what I should use.

You say "2. Run FS9 in NVidia clone mode or ATI "Theater Mode" to S-Video out and record with VCR, DVD recorder or capture card." I'm totally new to this...I have an ATI Radeon HD 4800 graphics card & assume the Catalyst Control Centre will provide me with Theatre Mode you mention but I don't know how to run FS9 to S-Video......I presume I connect the computer to a BlueRay DVD recorder I have, & record straight to a dvd, via the S-Video with a suitable lead once I've got my flight files with Fraps.....? Mmmmm....putting it onto a dvd does sound ideal though. The chaps who wants my flight can show at the event as often as he wants to!

I have a Humax PVR 9300T by the way so No.3 would be an option then....."High def analog component out" stumps me I'm sorry to say.

    Cheers,
    Terry.

Try Fraps first. You will want higher def than DVD.
