I recorded a couple of videos from my Droid X but I was wondering if there was a way to add a timestamp to the video before I add it to a DVD.

Try virtualdub with the directshow filter or an avisynth script to open the 3gp directly in virtualdub. Or convert the 3gp to avi with Free 3GP Video Converter or freemake video converter, etc. Then use the add frame number filter( see https://forum.videohelp.com/threads/269307-Timestamping-VirtualDub-capture ) filter . Just put in the virtualdub plugins folder and restart virtualdub.
