  1. hey guys been awhile since I've been here and dont see a 3d section, so I hope this is the right place to post question. I have an evo3d, files from yt3d go into 3d mode automactically, whereas sbs mp4's i have wont, i have to manually force into 3d viewing. I'm trying to figure out how to edit the data or tag to recognize as a 3d video format. I have been all over google, used media info, added 3d to the file name. I dont see anything in the file properties that differentiate them from regular files. Does anyone know what I'm looking for or how to change them to recognized as a 3d file? Thanks in advance.

  3. Sbs mp4's. When I launch they play in sbs, and I have to hit the 3d button to force them into 3d mode. But stuff I record or download from youtube 3d, are instantly recognized as 3d media. Which means there is some sort of flag within the file. I just can't find it. I've tried media info and gspot and don't see anything. I've googled my ass off and can't find anything, but I know its there somewhere.

OK - sorry I didn't get back sooner, was out carting my daughter around to Lollapalooza...

The EVO3D, just like many smartphones and app-enabled TVs & settop boxes, has a direct app/parser for youtube3d. This app understands the yt3d tags - NOT the phone as a whole itself. Therefore, any tagging you might attempt to make it show up automatically in 3D will not help in the least, as the rest of the phone doesn't deal with youtube (and any tags they may have).

What you CAN try to do is:

Take a 3D picture/video using the 3D camera function of the phone. Save the file(s) and copy it/them to a PC. Open in a tag viewer (either some EXIF reader for photos, or MediaInfo for Videos). Post those results here.

Then, see if the file(s) you took show up automatically in 3D. If they do, we might be able to get somewhere...
If they don't, you're Out of Luck.

Since there is no ONLINE manual, I can't help remotely that easily, since I don't own that phone, but we might be able to spot any special tags, and that might help us pin down how it "knows" to show those files automatically (if in fact they do).

  6. I've looked at them with gspot, mediainfo, mp3tag. I dont see anything, none of them seemed tagged at all. I know when uploading to youtube it adds a tag, but I cant find those tags within the saved video either.

Great, you've looked at them, but do you even know what to look for? That's why I suggested you post the screenshots of those apps' output, so WE can look at them.

Also, did you test KNOWN GOOD 3D files (NOT YOUTUBE, TAKEN BY THE PHONE) from the phone to see if they automatically show as 3D?
If none do, there's no point in continuing; if some do, you(WE) compare the ones that work against the ones that don't.

    ...still waiting for those posts...
