  1. Hello, boys and girls
    This is my problem i wona watch movies in avi or xvid or divx on dvd-player, but when i try to convert movie in that format and watch it on dvd-player it wont work sometimes, i dont now why, some movies work and they are shown in the picture so i hope you can tell me whats the best way to convert movies in avi for my dvd-player?
    MOvies on picture work!!!

    As far as I can guess:

    In Xvid or DivX configuration:

    1-Don't use Qpel
    2-Don't use Packed Bit Stream
    3-Keep video resolution compliant
    with DVD standard.
    Audio:
    4-Don't use to low sample rate.

    If you have an avi that doesn't work it's easiest to just reconvert with avi recomp. It will make it work on most avi divx players.

    If you convert yourself then try autogk and make an avi divx or xvid.

  4. ok, so what is the best softwer to convert all to avi, for my dvd player, and on what parametars i need to watch out?

    The link in my post tells you what parameters NOT to use. Did you even look?

    Encoders aren't very different, but what format are your sources? Do you need a very simple to use encoder or are you willing to use something that gives you more control but requires you to set more values in it?

  6. simple but afectiv that is what i wont, to convert from lets say "mkv" to "avi" and watch it on dvd player.
