Hi,
Newbie here,as the title says I am finding it hard to get a solid answer.i use a 560ti oc gpu at the moment and would like to attach it to my full HDTV. My tv has a pc mode via a vga cable with a max res of 1920x1080 with a full aspect ratio. It also has a hdmi mode with a max res of 1080p:1920x1080 with a full and 4:3 aspect ratio. Will I get a good clear picture.I have heard some horror stories about getting the settings right. Th card itself has 2 dvi ports and a mini hdmi port. I assume there are connections that can bought to convert different types of cables. Anyway any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, it can be done. It works best if your HDTV has a non-overscan mode. Ie, with pixel-for-pixel mapping of a 1920x1080 source. I have a 46" Samsung 4665 HDTV hooked up to my computer via HDMI. It's perfectly sharp. Just like a giant computer monitor.
