Now that I don't need a big case due to ditching my drive caddies, this one pretty much meets my requirements, e.g. as little lighting as possible (including the power/restart LEDs!) and as less noise as possible. I wish the buttons/ports were on the front instead of top though. It even has a hot swappable bay!
That looks like a nice case.

check out their other "silent" case reviews too.

    Here's a cheaper "Silencio" alternative:

    LOL!

I just remembered your old drives are IDE. Those trayless removable drive bays only work for SATA drives. All the IDE drive bays I've seen require the drives be in trays.

Hi The Mariner. WOW!!!! Yes, except I bet it costs more than they spent making the Terminator movie!!

Thanks jagabo, yes I had seen that review, as well as few others and they all seem to agree that it's quiet. However, there seems to be dissatisfaction in a number of reviews with the space available behind the motherboard for cables. Requiring an additional fan has also been suggested more than once, but as I do not overclock, I may not need that. What type of fan would be best if I were to add an extra one at the front? I know it should be at least 120mm.

Oh and thanks for the link to the Silencio alternative! Very funny! I could do with one of those for my current pc AND one of these.

It is a bit more expensive than most, but a mate has one & he's usually a real tightwad. They look really cool 'in the flesh'.

If I were to be given one (notice I wouldn't dare say 'buy' one even as an 'if'!) I'd definitely go for the snow edition. They've got it right when they say 'love at first sight'!

You know what... I reckon I would too. It looks like a piece of equipment a Imperial Stormtrooper would have.

    Haha.

Bet you didn't know that whilst computing, it could also cook, clean, wash the dishes, do the laundry and iron all the clothes at the same time....just look at the number of tentacles it's got in the 'The Cooling System - Air Cooling' section of that page!!!!

The Lian Li 343B should be large enough for you.

    Hi all.

Since it is important that the pc/case is quiet, I think I may have to buy a separate CPU cooler as the standard one may defeat the purpose of using a silent case (Silencio 550). A budget one would do me fine and I was thinking about the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus but I am worried about it's size and if my chosen case, which I have bought already, would be too small. I have done the usual research to see if anyone had this combination of case and cooler and one person, who hadn't installed it yet, mentioned that the cooler would press against the foam of the case or maybe not fit at all. I'm thinking that cutting out the foam where the cpu touches would be a bad idea. Would it be a problem if the cooler pressed against the foam on the side panel of the case? From what I understand, which may well be incorrect, this cooler can be mounted in more than one way and the fan can be removed and attached to the opposite side of the cooler so that it doesn't cover up the first two memory slots. Is anyone able to confirm this or have any other advice?

    Thanks.
