  1. So I bought this Dazzle DVC100 and am capturing some old videos from VHS to transfer to DVD.

    I'm capturing through the DVC100 on the S-Video port since my VHS has an S-Video out.

    Everything captures just fine, although the files sizes are rather large. I'm using the MJPeg option and setting it to the highest setting.

    The problem is the captures always look like they need to be de-interlaced.

    If anyone has any tips on how to capture through the Dazzle so this doesn't occur I'd greatly appreciate it.

    Pinnacle Studio (which comes with the dazzle and apparently is the only package you can use to capture) doesn't have any settings for field order or anything.

    you're capturing interlaced material. try capturing to DVavi or mpeg-2 interlaced. when playing back on vlc you may need to turn de-interlacing on for your progressive computer monitor.
