I'm a big Handbrake fan, but Handbrake currently doesn't allow hardsubbing of SRT files. I've done some tests and it seems XviD4PSP offers the best options but is slowest. VirtualDub is also slower than handbrake.
The minimum requirements are:
1. Batch encoding
2. Fine tuning of H264 settings
3. Accepts SRT files and allows you to change font etc.
The question is, which program do you guys think is best for this? Which offers the best options and which is the fastest?

Yes, but what I am getting at is that even with the SAME settings, encoding using different software takes drastically different lengths of time.
