  1. I got an AXIS ip-camera that is currently spewing out a MJPEG stream (http://astute.nl/100hoogcam).
The cam is getting a lot of visitors, so much that the cam and the bandwith available are being maxed out.

Now, at a different site I have a nearly unused 100mbit up/down connection available.

Is there a way that I can pick up the MJPEG stream at the 100/100 connection and restream it to the internet? Basically taking the load of the cam and my local connection.

At the site I have a Windows 2008R2 server running.
I also have possible access to a FreeBSD server, but no a lot of Linux knowledge.

I'd like to know if anyone was able to solve this. I have a Sony IP Cam with an MJPEG stream only and I'd like to restream that to an RTSP stream to connect to my NVR.

Hello everyone, my name is Tom, I am streaming engineer with years of experience on this subject.

What you are looking for is called Streaming server, here is what streaming server does for you : it take live feed such as your camera and deliver it to wider audience using variety of players, good streaming server can distribute same video in many different formats and protocols required by different players, good streaming server is capable of handling thousands of parallel connections on a single instance.

To successfully deploy a streaming server on your virtual private cloud or some dedicated server you need to posses some knowledge of administration and scripting (programming also in some cases).

I my self with a team of few engineers am hosting this streaming platform : http:/h264.me

If anybody is interested I am more then happy to show you how you can redistribute your camera content using my product.
