Convert expired WMA to MP3

Hi All,

I have several hundred of WMA files. My subscription expired and all the WMA files are unplayable.
I was having an impression that my subscription entitled me to access the website. Didn't I know that the expired subscription cost me all the songs in my hard disk.
Is it too late to convert to MP3 now ?

It's probably too late. All the conversion tools that I have heard of require the songs to be playable to convert them. You could try something like FairUse4WM but if it doesn't work you'll probably have to resubscribe and then convert the songs. This is the danger of DRM - if you lose access to the DRM provider, your songs are unplayable.

Resubscribe is one option. Maybe that's the only option left.

For future reference, never ever buy copy-protected music.
Audio CDs are legal, and have superior quality.

The WMA music came with my 3G cellphone contract. I terminated the music download service without realizing my 800+ WMA songs depend on my subscription. If I were to buy audio CD, that's close to 50 CDs.
