Hi, new here. I'm a PC user with an AppleTV (1st generation)
My problem/ I have a legal unprotected DVD with all its images in 16:9 format. When I play it every player thinks it's in 4:3 and squashes up the picture. Playing it on the PC is no problem as players like VLC allow me to switch playing format.
But I want to move it to my AppleTV. Every attempt I make to rip the DVD still ends up with a 4:3 output.
Any ideas how I can convince the ATV that it's in 16:9? Or how can I change the format flag on the m4v copy (or on an avi or wmv copy for that matter)?
Here's hoping
Michael

re-rip it properly. 720x576 16/9 pal dvds need to resized to 1024x576 m4v to display properly on most devices.
