Hi
I have been told that H.264 allows the encoder to store up to five previous frames for motion estimation and compensation. Is this correct?
How does H.264 decide which reference frames to store?
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays! or rip iTunes movies!

x264 allows up to 16 reference frames.
