    Can anyone tell me the different macro block sizes that can be chosen for motion estimation using H.264/AVC?

    For luminance:
    16x16
    16x8
    8x8
    8x4
    4x4

    It's not specified in the standard, so it's up to each particular implementation of h.264

    For example, x264 has these choices
