  1. I am currently backing up my DVD collection. I use dvddecrypter, then dvd shrink, and burn with decrypter to create the back up disc. I have been saving my iso images that have been created on a 2 TB external HD, but it is nearly full. I would like to convert them into a smaller file that can be streamed thru my son's xbox using Windows Media Center without losing too much quality. I know this is probably a matter for the department of redundancy department, but, sometimes both the original, and back up disc migrate to my kids rooms never to be heard from again. Any help would be fantastic, and thank you in advance.

  2. Personally I would rip the original MPEG2/AC3 streams and create a MPG file. This would save some space as you wont have the menus/extras or extra audio tracks. Since you would be using the original streams, there will be no loss of quality at all.

If you want to save more space, and you are using Windows 7 Media Center, then you could convert to H.264/AAC, which Handbrake will do.

  3. Thanks for the help, I will see what I can do in the future, but 2 things. 1, what do I do, ie how do I convert the .iso images already saved, and 2, Handbrake, or at least the version I have doesn't have that option, or at least I don't see it or know how to bring it up. It only has the 2 "apple" formats.
