Hello,
When ripping blu ray films for the purpose of remuxing them into MKVs, I find that when I open the appropriate MPLS file in Tsmuxer, there is already a delay set on the DTS audio.
When I highlight the audio stream, under general track options, "-8" is already in the "Delay (in ms)" box. Why is this?
When I select the option to demux, the delay box is greyed out and when I remux into an MKV using Mkvmerge I never bother putting the -8ms delay back in.
Is this the right thing to do? I always assumed that it may have been an erroneous/random detection, and just ignored it with past rips. However, the thought came to me recently that it may actually be the case that when the studios author the blu-rays, the audio streams are indeed delayed (or in this case, negatively delayed), and that after losing this delay information when I demux the files, I should be putting it back in when remuxing into an MKV.
Any ideas?
Not sure if it's worth fretting over either. Can you really pick up on audio being 8ms out of place?
