  1. Recently, this version of Vegas has begun taking over 90 seconds just for the program to open. It was always a little slow to open but not nearly this bad. It hangs at 'Initializing Scripts' for just over one minute then changes to 'Initializing UI' for another 30 seconds or so.

Nothing else is running in the background while I do this. It does the same even after a reboot, clearing cache, etc.
Any ideas why this program has decided to start opening so slowly?

    WinXP Pro SP3
i7 930 quad core with 4 gigs of ram
    GeForce 9500GT video card

The program works great once it's open with quite good processing speeds on this machine. It just takes it's time opening. Any suggestions are welcome.

do you have a lot of additional plugins? or have it set to load last project on startup? it does sound really slow loading, vegas pro 10 here loads in about 5 seconds.

  3. No additional plugins and I have that 'open at last project' unchecked. It's almost like it's looking for something to load, then goes ahead and loads anyway, although 90 seconds later. To my knowledge, I haven't changed any settings anywhere that might have caused this.

if it were me, i'd try uninstalling, deleting any leftover folders and then re-installing.
