Hey all,
A client has sent me some ProRes files. I need to be able to pass these through HandBrake 0.9.4 CLI for batch encoding to MP4. Usually they send me DVDs or DVD images and so this is not a problem, but now...
The ProRes files have a much higher bitrate than DVD spec so it would be nice to preserve that, but I can't think of a very good way to do that with an intermediary format. Currently trying test batches by using QuickTime to export the ProRes stuff to DV / DVCPRO and feeding that to HandBrake. Another option would be exporting to uncompressed AVI, but that will probably result in huge files which will a) take forever to process, and b) bottleneck the whole thing on the transfer speed to the external hard drive storing the video files.
I'm sure somebody out there is more clever than I am. What's the optimal way you would make ProRes (422) into a format HandBrake can read? Any help greatly appreciated.
