I just upgraded to MMC 7.6. It changed something about my capture driver, because now I can't capture avi at anything over 240 vertical resolution. ATI's fix for interlace lines, perhaps?

Am I the only one that's experiencing this problem?

Overall it seems to be more stable than 7.1.

  3. I also upgraded to 7.6 from 7.2 and I cannot capture anything above 240 vertical either. I also cannot capture MPEG files. AVI is fine.

    Anyone know of a fix?

  4. I had to install 7.1 from scratch. Then set custom 480x480 avi huffy profile. Then install 7.6 on top. THe profile carried over, and now can capture 480x480 in 7.6.

Hint: in order to install 480x480 avi profile, you have to start with 640x480 avi, save , go into regedit , and manually chance the 640 to 480.
maybe i'll write a little primer, or a registry import file.

  5. Where in the REG do you find the correct default to change? I current use the standard MPEG but the AVI is much better.

  6. when I get home, I can give specifics. This registry hack does not work in 7.6, which is why I had to start with 7.1, because I had been doing it with it before.

I do know it's under hkey_current _user, not hkey_local_machine. Go to software, ati, and you'll find an avi section. just dig down till you see your 640 and 480 mentioned. Change the 640 to 480. If I remember right it might be in 2 places in the same area of the registry.

    For those with the Radeon:

    What driver r u using with 7.6?

My TV on Demand function quality sucks! Slightly jerky picture and after capturing for over 90 minutes or so it's hard to fast forward.

I found MMC 7.6 on the ATI website with no problems. You can download it from ATI at: http://download.ati.com/drivers/MMC-7-6-noDVD.exe
