    Hi,

I've come to this forum because my friend has a dvd disk that is only a collection of vob, ifo, and bup files. What do I do with these files to make a dvd data disk that plays in a dvd player?

Nothing. Those are the file types used in DVD video.

No Dvd player will read it though. It always says "unreadable disk." I see the files on my computer, but I don't know where to go from here.

  4. And his DVD player doesn't play it either? Then maybe he really did burn it as a data disc. Put the files onto the hard drive inside a VIDEO_TS folder and try burning using ImgBurn.

1/ Make sure the disk is burned using the UDF 1.0.2 file system. (A program like ImgBurn should help you select this when it detects that perhaps you're trying to burn a DVD-Video disc.)
2/ For best compatibility use a volume name in all caps and no spaces (underscore is okay): e.g. MOVIECLIPS_2011
3/ The VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders should be in the root of the folder structure. The .VOB, .IFO and .BUP files should be in the VIDEO_TS folder.
