  1. Hello,

    1) How do you convert a DTS to burn on a CD?

I was lucky enough to convert Dolby Digital (AC3) format to burn on a CD using AZID with ease. They are excellent for concerts and live shows. However, I have a DTS DVD and I can not find a shareware or crack that can convert it to CD. Please reply with your suggestions or links on how to do this task.

    2) Is it possible to have a CD with Dolby Digital, DTS, and LPCM (Stereo) formats?

Basically, I was thinking of coming up with a Menu that you can select from a DVD player the Digital Audio Format you want to listen to. If you do not select anything the LPCM (Stereo) will play automatically. This way you can also play it on a regular CD Player.

Thank you in advance for all your responses to this posting. Please be a detailed as possible when you reply.

    Cheers,
    elf

  2. i have asked many times on this forum "how do i convert dts to 6 pcm wav files?" There doesn't seem to be a nice easy way to do it digitally.

you can encode dts wav files for use on dts-CDs using Surcode CD Pro DTS.

you can rip dolby digital from dvd and convert it to 6 pcm wav files using AZID (i can mail u the .bat file if u ask). then u have to convert it from 48khz to 44.1khz using Cool Edit Pro (i can mail u the script if u know how to use cool edit pro scripts. don't bother me if u don't).

then u can encode it to dts using the encoder i mentioned above, or you can encode it to dolby digital (for use on CDs) using Sonic Foundry Soft Encode 1.0

i assume that the CDs u are making from AZID are PCM 2.0 Dolby Surround (not AC3). this is the normal cd format.

    2) yes you can do this with VCDs. just make a VCD with a menu system at the start. The DTS, PCM, and Dolby Digital 5.1. audio tracks are put on the cd like normal audio tracks. usually the pcm tracks are put on 1st, then the dts, then the doloby digital 5.1. use this order because pcm (normal audio cd) will always work, dts-cd is a true format and will work if u have a decoder, dolby digital 5.1 on a cd is a made up format that may not work even if u have a decoder.

    problems:
-the 1st track on the cd is data (the vcd system) a normal audio cd player will play this as either silence or noise for a few seconds.
-the dts and dolby digital tracks will play back as loud digital noise when played on a normal cd player.
-there is no way to stop a normal cd player from continuing on and playing the dts and dolby digital tacks once the pcm has finished playing.
-dolby digital 5.1 on a cd is not a true format. there is a high chance it won't work.

There is a nice guide for SurcodeDTS that both decodes and downsamples the ac3 track and imports it for encoding in Surcode Dts.

It's named Besure, I think It uses azids dll.

Check out the audio guides at: doom9.org
