Well I'm searching for a video and audio editing software...
I'm a retro lover and I synchronize the sound of old vhsrips with
japanese raws in order to preserve the old good times...
So far I had been using audacity for the audio editing, windows media
player for synchronizing the sound with raw and virtualdub for the encoding...
The result isn't what I expected though...
There were many sound quality issues and the irritating fssssss(from old vhs despite having removed the noise)
So I'm currently searching for a program/s that will do the following:
-sound editing(with a good noise removal filter and if it is possible able to extract the sound with the least quality loss)
-video editing for the whole synchronizing process(with playback)
-encoding program
I have heard about a few programs that do the job but having not tried them myself I am kind of unsure...
I'm certain that the best program for encoding is Megui...
For the video editing I have two friends who do the same task, the one is using Sony Vegas and the other one Cyberlink powerdirector(from what I've heard ulead is not half bad either...)
For the audio editing I have heard of adobe audition and cool edit pro...
If it is possible I would prefer easy-to-use programs(what I call noob friendly...)
I don't have a problem using a more advanced program though if it is for the name of quality(coughs arrogantly) but I don't want to have my efforts wasted...
Thanks in advance...
PS:If there is a similar thread then then do merge it,I don't have any issues here...

Vegas Pro has strong audio capabilities, and supports .VST plugins, don't know about the "studio" versions. .VST plugins are filters for audio and work similar to VirtualDub video filters. They can be chained.
Anything that uses .VST plugins is what you need, most are free. -
Call me pedantic (or worse
) if you like, but it's just "VST" (no dot).

Anyone knows if Vegas is kind of handy??
If I'm not mistaken the whole audio editing will actually be the synchronized audio with the appropriate filters, right??
Well, since there are japanese dvd and blue rays available I was thinking that I could adjust the vhs sound into the raw(like a friend of mine suggested) with adobe audition however that seems quite difficult and complex to me right now(maybe cause I haven't tried it yet)...
Any ideas or suggestions??Last edited by Raziel; 2nd Jul 2011 at 20:26.
