  1. I would like to convert my AVCHD 30P clips to AVCHD Lite format. While most users wish to convert from AVCHD Lite, I want to convert to AVCHD Lite so that I can burn those clips to an AVCHD disc (which requires either 24P or 50P/60P frame rates). Does anyone know of a tool or method to accomplish this task? I might think it is a bit more complex than including the bitstream flag (to play each frame twice). Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks

  2. Actually that's all it is , a frame doubling flag, or "double pulldown"

You can use x264 to encode streams and any blu ray / avchd authoring application

The other option is to do real frame doubling (i.e. encode duplicates), of course this is less efficient to encode

  3. Thanks for the info. I feel better in knowing that it is indeed doable. I do want to losslessly convert to AVCHD Lite, so if I could just edit the header metadata to convert these clips, all the better. Maybe by inspecting the header of a true AVCHD Lite clip I can get an idea how to actually do this.
