  1. I have been using Popcorn AudioConverter as a GUI-tool to convert my media files that contain DTS audio to AC3 for compatibility with my Windows Media Center and Xbox 360 extenders. (I personally prefer DTS to AC3, but oh well...) Anyway, this tool has done a great job for me - until last night. I have always used it single file at a time. But now I have a TV series of 5 seasons - with all the episodes in DTS. So I wanted to use Popcorn in directory mode and give it a source directory and a target directory. However, when I click on the Directory radio button and then click on Browse to select the Source Directory, no explorer type dialog pops up for me to select the source directory. I've looked behind all the windows everywhere but there is no dialog to be found. At this point I can't click on anything in Popcorn, it just gives a sound and the interface is frozen. It acts like it's waiting on me to click on a dialog to select a source directory - except there is no selection dialog. At this point, I have no choice but to kill it in Task Manager.

I was on 1.82, but I downloaded the latest 1.84 last night and upgraded all the tools and MKVtoolnix also. But the problem remains the same. I can convert audio one file at a time - but not a directory of files.

Any help would be greatly appreciated - a solution or an alternative. I really don't want to do all these episodes attended one at a time. Thanks in advance.

    FYI, I'm on Windows 7 64-bit.

It works fine on my win7 64bit system. I select common directory, click browse, a popup appears and I can select folder.

I guess you have to ask in http://www.networkedmediatank.com/showthread.php?tid=20887 .

  3. Thanks for replying Baldrick. I figured out the problem. I tried selecting directories in Popcorn AC on a Windows 7 32-bit machine (worked fine) and a different Windows 7 64-bit machine I own (it also worked fine). At that point, I suspected that it was a probelm with my display setup. The machine I was having an issue with has a dual display with the primary monitor being a 30-inch display running 2560x1600 resolution. Both of the directory buttons in Popcorn (Common Directory and Source Directory) would not display a popup when I hit Browse and I'd have to kill the process. However, I went to another computer and did a Remote Desktop to this machine and it worked fine from a remote desktop. A strange eccentricity of the software I guess.
