Hello ive ripped my entire blu-ray colletion to my server and with relatively no major problems. lately i have been having problems though. i dont know how to determine what the issue is. maybe its hard ware maybe its software or copy protection? here is my blu-ray reader
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827106326
here is the software i use
1: Anydvd HD V 6.8.1.0 (as of now)
2: BD Info v.0.5.6
3: tsMuxeR GUI 1.10.6
then i use imgburn to make iso
so here is my problem with some of my new blu-rays recently ive been having issues ripping to hdd. i will get like 10% or so on tsmuxer then it says completed and instead of an hour it takes like 10 mins so i know something isnt right. this has happened with There Will be Blood, Dilemma, Clerks 2. Ive tried using dvdfab 8qt with dvdfab passkey 8 just to try different program but still fails part way through. How can i determine what the issue is? i recently updated my blu-ray reader firmware to WLOD. any help would be appreciated please. thanks sorry if i didnt list all necessary info.
if it matters i am just ripping the main movie not full disk i do not compress anything. ive tried ripping full disk with dvdfab didnt make difference

Try Clown_BD instead for extracting main movie.
Tell me, for the discs you're having trouble with, does BDinfo show more than one *.m2ts file for the main movie? If so, tsMuxer is the problem, it's not reliable for main movie when it has to join multiple *.m2ts files per playlist file (*.mpls). I found this out some time ago and recently, in a Doom9 thread, got confirmation. (I think it was in the BDEdit bug report thread).
Anyway, try Clown_BD, it's reliable for main movie extraction. Good luck.Pull! Bang! Darn! -
thanks for response i will try that program but i dont ise m2ts files i use .mplis so i use the playlist that bdinfo tells me is the most likely main movie. the reason i do it this way is because i ran into a problem i think with the movie year one with jack black i picked the biggest m2ts file and it wasnt actually the full movie and from a thread i created (probably here) i was told that sometimes the blu-rays need to piece together multiple files in order the make the full movie...so does that info matter in your response for tsmuxer?? i will still try clown thanks again

error with clown_BD too...

The playlist file (*.mpls) tells whatever application you're using which *.m2ts files are in the titleset. So you are indeed selecting *.m2ts files. They contain the actual movie.
You have a decoding problem. Since you're on XP, you may need UDFreader. See if that fixes the problem with Clown_BD. If not, I suggest you update AnyDVDHD, rip the disc to hard drive and try again with Clown_BD.Pull! Bang! Darn! -
ok im a little confused when i was ripping my usual way in tsmuxer i click add in input files go to bdmv then playlist then select the mpls..so even tho im selecting the mpls files tsmuxer is actually pulling from the m2ts files is that whats going on here? sorry just trying to understand the process...and im actually on windows 7 sp1 sorry should have mentioned that probably. i have the latest anydvdhd version unless there is a beta out there. and even when i try to use anydvdhd to rip to image it fails...maybe ill try "rip vdeo DVD to Hardrive"
-
to try and rule out some things i tried to rip the movie using dvdfab8 and dvdfabpasskey 8 on another comp and error also so i think that rules out hardware
-
You are definitely confused. There is no doubt about that. I cannot take you seriously because you insist on referring to everything you do as "ripping" although very little of what you have done is actual ripping. Learn to use the term correctly if you want to get help and you don't want some of us to think that helping you is a waste of our time.

ok then what is the correct terminology am i not ripping the movie to my hard drive??? cuz thats what i thought taking the movie from the disc to the hard drive meant...? and because i may not have the correct wording down properly that means you cant help me? that logic makes no sense
-
anyways im not here to argue stupid sh*t im here to try and understand why as of recently im having a hard time extracting or copying or ripping the main movie from the disc to my hard drive so no need for you non sense on this thread
