  1. Is there any software (apart from Imgburn) that can compare the data on a (burned) DVD/CD with its iso image file AFTER BURNING?

  3. No it can't

(That's assuming the OP means as a standalone operation - it's not exacly clear what 'after burning' means - straight after burning or 1 week later?!)

You could Read the disc to another image file and MD5 the two image files though.

Mount the ISO using eg Daemon Tools, then you can compare the files in the ISO with those on the disc, using standard tools (eg, MD5 them).

ImgBurn (freeware) can do that even one week after burning

The ImgBurn ‘Verify disc’ function will check if the data written to the disk is readable.

    2. To verify a disk against ISO file with ImgBurn, choose ‘Verify disc’ (9).

    3. Click the browse icon (10) and select the ISO file that you use to burn the disk. Make sure you inserted the disk that you want to verify to your CD/DVD drive. Select the CD/DVD drive (11) that contains the disk that you’ve burn before. Press the start icon (12) to start the disk verification process.

  9. The op did say 'apart from ImgBurn'.

Still, I'm interested to learn what the problem is and why using the program he/she already knows can do it isn't good enough. :'(

  10. I have burned three copies of an iso of a disk using three different tools (first was Imgburn 3 times, then Win & built in tool anfd then Nero) and set them to verify after burn. I only got a discrepancy with Imgburn but not the other 2. Same iso same media

Imgburn has a better verify system then the other 2,even though the discs may pass on the other 2 apps it doesn't compare exact hash values that imgburn does so the other 2 apps will pass mismatch bytes.

I thought it did a byte by byte comparison as the verify was being done.
How can it compare hash values while it's still running? Hash values for each sector?

    Or each file.

  14. You're correct davexnet, ImgBurn does do a byte by byte comparison.

It would help if the OP posted the log from the session where he/she ran into the problem.

Verify can fail for several reason and without seeing the exact error, it's hard to offer any sound advice.
