    Hi all,

I have just bought a Nikon Coolpix 995, taking lots of digital pictures and want them into a slideshow. but MUST be able to play it back on a normal DVD player connected to TV.

Have tried Ulead DVD Picture Show and it's great. Very simple to use and the quality is excellent for VCD.

    Only issues :-

I would like to be able to put transitions between the slides but it's not essential.

I MUST be able to add text captions to each slide in the slideshow. This appears to be impossible?? Only thing I can think of is to add text to each picture in Photoshop, but this is a bit tacky.

Anyone else got bright ideas, different software etc.

I have the Ulead software on demo at moment, happy to purchase it if that's the best option, also happy to purchase competitor if more appropriate.

I still think that WinOnCD is the best software for slideshows. It is no longer sold by Roxio in the States, but you might be able to get it in the UK.

It produces a disk which will play in a PC, MAC, or DVD player. All pictures are stored in their original format and resolution on the disk along with the files needed to show in these different formats. You can add text to the slides and that appears on the DVD but doesn't affect the original slides. Also, all ratios work fine with just drag-and-drop.

No transistions, but other than that, this is really top notch.
