we are searching for a solution to this problem:
we have a low-end-cpu and want to record signals from 2-4 video cameras (low-res: 320x200). a hardware device should make a single video channel of these signals so that the CPU only receives one video that can be read via direct-x.
do you know any products for such a use case?
e.g. the "EasyCap Model 002 - 4 Channel USB 2.0 DVR Video Audio CCTV Capture Adapter" is almost what we want - the only problem is, that you can only view all channels within their own software - over direct-x you always get only one of the 4 video channels.
regards

You can probably build a filter graph with Graph Studio and open that in some recording software.

Oh, I left out a part: You build four filter graphs to capture from each device. Then use an Avisynth script to open each of those graphs (DirectshowSource) and composite the four images into one (StackHorizontal, StackVertical). You then open that AviSynth script in whatever software you want.

I think this does what you want:

The cameras must put out standard video signals.
