StreamTransport works very well on SOME types of streaming media, but it can be difficult for newbies to get it working. Non-free commercial solutions in general may be all you can use to get things like Hulu or Netflix streams to record to your PC.

netflix shows that i don't get to watch all of it at one sitting

Netflix remembers where you left off & when you select it again it lets you choose 'resume.'
