My M2TS files have no audio when played in either Windows Media Player 10 or Windows Media Center 7. I need Media Center because this is a HTPC. The audio format on these M2TS files is PCM.
I also have some M2TS files that have audio format AC-3 that play fine in Windows Media Center 7.
Checking the various forums for Windows7, there seems to be a problem with PCM audio. I did not have this problem with Vista, it just appeared after I upgraded to W7. I can also replicate it on any machine running W7.
Is there a way to take an M2TS file and convert just the audio portion of it to AC-3 or MP3 or any other format that Windows can handle. I have tried my converters to fully convert to avi, mpeg, mp4 and there always seems to be a degradation in the video part of it even though it does fix the audio part.
Any recommendation would be highly appreciated.
