I have a large collection of lossless audio songs(16-bit/44.1 KHz) ripped on my computer. I want to able to play them on my DVD player too. Now I can burn them on CDs as CD-DA but that will produce too many disks. Using DVDs will bring down the number of disks and cost by 80%.
All DVD-burning softwares I have used resample the audio to 48 KHz, thus affecting the audio quality. Is there a way/software which allows me to burn them without any such resampling/encoding and at the same time ensuring maximum quality?

The 44.1 to 48 change does not minimize or lessen the audio quality.

DVD is defined as 48KHz so must be done for a formal spec DVD. By "lossless" do you mean LPCM stereo or other?
Still many DVD players will accept 44.1KHz in file playback mode. You just need to deal with the file player user interface, or do long mix files. Most players will have a maximum file quantity limit.Recommends: Kiva.org - Loans that change lives.

Because the DVD spec requires 48 KHz. In DVD mode, you would also be required to record a video track as well (can be black at very low bit rate).
The problem you will run into simply playing files is a max file number limit that varies by player. Also some players limit file names to 8.3 format and some only see files in the root directory.Recommends: Kiva.org - Loans that change lives.

Best way is using a Dvd player that can play Dvd-Audio, you can fit 10+ cds at 44.1khz-16 on a Dvd-r/rw which will be (lossless) or 4 LP's at 96khz-24 (vinyl Hi-res Rips).
1) Using eac3to to split the wave files, L & R channels and import them into Surcode mlp encoder that has a 40%+/- lossless compression ratio. I've created a Dos batch file for splitting multiple files in one run.
2) Add the .mlp files to DiscWelder Chrome and author/create a Dvd-audio disc, you can even mix different sample rates & bit rates on the same dvd if desired.
