  1. Hello, I am using virtualdub to capture video, and I want to crop the frame down, it's extremely easy to do so with the 'cropping' option, but is there any way to show the cropping regions? I can't frame anything properly and it eliminates the point of cropping if I can't frame my shots.

I've found nothing through searching and the manual isn't helpful.

I see the cropping regions, video->filter->null transform and cropping:

Or do you mean something else?

edit: Or while you capture? Nope. Don't think it possible.

  3. Yeah, configuring the cropping area isn't a problem, it's actually framing it in the preview window, because it'll show the original uncropped region [More then what I want to shoot] and it makes it impossible to frame.

You'll need to use another editor for something advanced like that.
    Adobe Premiere, for example.

Try this Virtualdub filter I made for exactly what you want. Though I'm not sure you can use it while capturing.

  6. I got it to work, when in capture avi mode, set the video mode to 'preview' then set the according source [Progressive, interlaced, etc]

Thanks for the plugin Khaver, works fine.
