  1. Hey guys, I was wondering if someone could help me out with this conundrum I've got going on.

I'm trying to hardsub a video in VirtualDub, but the subtitles will not even show up in the output video at all. The video is in .avi format and the subs in .ssa (created in Subtitle Workshop). I have tried subbing with both Subtitler.vdf and textsub.vdf plugins, but neither works. I load the .vdf, load the .avi, press OK and the output video in the right screen is exactly the same as input in the left - no subs!! What could be the problem?

I get this error whenever I first load the .avi, but I watched a youtube video where the guy said the error doesn't mean anything and can be ignored, but maybe that's not the case here?:

When editing the style of the .ssa subs, no text shows up in the "text" box at the top, although I don't know if it's supposed to be empty or not:

Subtitle Workshop on the left, VirtualDub on the right. The only difference is the lack of subs!:

Look at your top and bottom margin set to 415, try 10.

It worked, thank you so much. Would have NEVER figured that out on my own.
