Let's say I have several related video clips all with different quality video bitrates. How do I combine all these clips into one without the bitrate dropping to the lowest quality clip?

I have had times when putting several clips into one file where, if one clip was in bad video quality, the others would be sacrificed also.

Any way to avoid this? Any info is apprech. Thanks!

What do you use? Just be sure to use high enough bitrate(same as the best clip for example), high enough video size/resolution and a good video codec like xvid or h264/x264 when you reconvert and you shouldn't lose to much quality.

I use MPEG Video Wizard. What if I wish to keep these files as MPEG format?

I guess you want it a standard dvd-video? Then you could try use CBR (constant bitrate) encoding mode with max dvd bitrate 8000.

MPEG Video Wizard, offers a custom template. I used the template to create my video clip montage, changing both Variable and Constant Bitrate values to 8,000. For each file, the adjustment didn't help. All clips in each file seemed to downgrade to lower quality, perhaps to match the lowest quality clip in the file.

I'm trying to create an MPEG2 montage of several clips that have different video quality and different dimensions...
    1) I would like to maintain the quality of each video clip
    2) Is it possible to also maintain the dimensions of each clip without distorting the others?

I plan to keep these as MPEG2, because this seems to be the most versatile/universal video format for me. Am I wrong about this?

Can anyone else offer me any guidance on how to combine different quality video clips and maintain the quality? I've tried Google searching this, and nailing down results this specific is not very easy.

    Thanks...

Try another editor and see how it looks, like try the trial of vegas movie studio. And you might consider convert to h264 video in a mp4 if you don't need dvd-video compliance.

    Maybe try more general searches.
