Imgburn doesn't ask about the layer-break when you burn as BR9,why. It always asks when you burn as a DVD9 with DVD files.

Thanks, LIGHTNING UK!. I've wondered about that myself. Never noticed layer break dialogs when burning BDs, though I usually just put three ~ 8GB MKVs onto BDs as data. And thanks for a great program. (Donations are accepted at http://www.imgburn.com/ )

I saw this on one forum: "Blu-ray doesn't have layer break pauses like DVD does. The players all use frame buffers to play through the layer changes seamlessly."

BD DOES have layers (1 or 2 currently, possibly more to come), but layer breaks aren't as important, probably because the BD spec utilizes MPEG Transport Streams, and so the packetizing should neatly fit on 2048byte boundaries, the packet headers maintain the streams' timecoding and the buffer+data read rate is enough to pre-buffer across the layer break, so it can be wherever is necessary to fit.

    (Just an educated hunch)
