Hi guys, just need a little help as i am stuck trying to playback a video file.

Currently have a .mkv and .dts file. I was able to get the mkv to play and audio is heard, however, it is in russian. I can hear english in the background but mostly what i hear is russian. According to VLC media info, it indicates the following:

Stream 0 shows to be the video and indicate a language of english
Stream 1 shows to be audio type russian is the language

Now the dts file when played is the english sountrack only, however, i can get it to play with the video file itself!
I wonder if there is a way to either a) remove the russian from the mkv file or b) play the mkv file using the dts file

Im a little bit confused as to how this works, any help is appreciated!

    Thanks!

Is the English only DTS file a separate file from the MKV ?
I am assuming yes from what you described.

Because if it is in the MKV file you just need to right click in the VLC screen when playing and choose the english only audio track.

Yeah it is a separate file completely that only has audio on it when opened. When i play the mkv file, there is only russia language available to choose from.

You should be able to mux in the english audio track into the MKV with MKVtoolnix

If you don't want the russian audio demux everything you want from the MKV with MKVcleaver, subs, video, etc. then remux them into a new MKV.
