I can't get MPC-HC to ignore some subtitles' style settings. I have checked "Default Style,". This option ignores subtitle formatting in other cases.
For these files however, the subtitles appear with highlighting and a distracting font. I can turn the subtitles off (they're stored in .idx and .sub files), but I can't ignore the formatting. Do you have any advice about how I can display the subtitles in my desired style?
Edit: It seems that .sub and .idx files may be stored as images instead of text, which would explain why I can't use the media player's text formatting. I'll try using SubResync's OCR feature on them to convert them to .SRT, but I'm not optimistic about my chances.
