hey guys, so i've started the process of backing up my BD collection. I'm using DVDFab to rip the disc ISO to the HDD. I'm then using makeMKV to extract the main video. i'm then using handbrake to convert the mkv to h264. however, the resulting handbrake file (.mp4 or .m4v) aren't playable by any media players i've tried. i have CCCP codec pack installed as well as QT and VLC. the mkv file plays back just fine and when i do a "preview" in handbrake it plays back perfectly as well. for some reason that final encode to h264 isn't producing a usable file. Is my process for ripping the BR incorrect? i'm using the default normal preset for handbrake. any ideas? thanks!
