  1. what os would give be the best hd playback, vista x86 or x64?

    I know for over 3 (or so) gigs of ram to be recognized you need a 64bit OS, so by having say, 4 or 8 gigs of ram as opposed to 2 or 3 gigs of ram, would that make a difference for HD playback ?

    I'm talking mobo memory not video card memory.

    Probably only if you are using onboard graphics and not a dedicated video card that supports hd and h264 specifically. But if you get a sub 100.00 card that does support hd and h264 than system ram should be less vital since the graphics card will take more of the burden of decoding away from the cpu and system in general.
